The longest place I've lived since high school ...

Tonight is the last night in our house. We are moving down the road to a neighborhood we've wanted to be in for a while. It's biter sweet. Although there are things that have annoyed me about this house I do have to say it's been a good home for us. Cruz has grown up in this house. I had many sleepless nights here when Cruz was a baby. I have seen him learn to walk and talk. My cat Mikey passed away in this home so this will be the first place I've lived in since high school without Mikey (RIP). I can now add Tomball, TX to the list of residences which will make it ... (Utah, Colleyville, Bedford, Denton, NYC, Hoboken, Ft Worth, Lewisville, Denton, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Huntington Beach, Dallas, Houston, Tomball) #19 home. Wow!  In going on #20!  Here's to a new chapter and new beginnings. 

HBD C R U Z !!!!!

Almost 3!

I am laying in Cruz's room. It's almost 8 am. I'm watching him sleep soundly. He doesn't get to sleep in as much as he should. He's a very active boy that never wants to slow down. It's nice to see him still and sleeping soundly. We have his toddler bed with a guard rail but also a twin bed (his big boy bed) on the floor primarily for me to sleep comfortably. He's been climbing out of his bed and coming down stairs at night. I am trying to prevent that by being in his room. It's working although he climbed in the twin last night and now I am hanging off the bed!  

In looking at pictures from last year and now I know Cruz has grown up so much!  He doesn't need his paci much anymore. He tries to go potty often and he isn't sleeping in a crib. I ask him to be my baby forever. He says that he's a big boy!    He makes me so proud to be his mommy!  

We are so excited for his birthday party tomorrow. He's going to have 20+ friends at Wonderwild (indoor playground). Let the celebration begin! 

Cruz's birthday invitations

So I addressed a bunch of invitations for Cruz's birthday trying not to leave anyone off. I asked him again if I forgot. That's when he said "Zach and Hannah". I received a call from Cruz's school today to tell me that there's not a Zach and Hannah. I had to think long and hard then I realized he invited his friends from the movie Goosebumps!!! 

Big boy!

Means big boy bed. Means pull ups. Means giving up the paci. Big boy steps!

2016 already!

How is it possible. I used to post almost weekly and last year I posted about 10 times. Life has gotten the best of me. I am going to do a better job at spending time with my family. I am going to do a better job at prioritizing my life personally verses professionally. I am going to do a better job at slowing down rather than rushing. I have had the last two weeks off at work. In a couple of days I will be back at work. I am sad to go back to long days without Cruz. He brings me so much joy. I have enjoyed having so much time with him over the last two weeks. I want to promise to take a couple of days off over the next year and just do something special with him. He's growing up so fast!
