Swaddle story

It's 11:45. Cruz has been asleep for almost 4 hours. I'm asleep. Not soundly of course. I roll over and check the monitor to find that Cruz has broken out of this swaddle too!!!  We are now up. Dang, thought that was the missing link.

Update: 3 am wakeup call. I just put Cruz down again after a feeding. His hands are free ...

Swaddle That Baby!!!

I want to go on record and say I love the book "happiest baby on the block". I have been doing the 5 s' and have been having success with Cruz. The 5 s' are:

1.) swaddle

2.) side

3.) swing

4.) suck

5.) shoosh

I've been doing this before reading the book but not all together with without being able to swaddle real well. I've tried but I never was tight enough. Cruz would rip out of it fast. I bough a swaddle with Velcro. Cruz isn't a fan of it at first but immediately calms down. Right now he's asleep in my arms after #4. No shooshing required!!!  Last night he slept better and in longer durations with it. I can't believe I'm just now getting it!  

We had a good day today. We went to the Y. He likes it there. Everyone is very sweet!  I feel very comfortable leaving him with the workers. We played afterwards at home. He loves when I have him over my head like he's flying. He rolled over once but was frustrated and didn't want to do it again. 

Okay, going to put him to sleep. Pray!  No crying. He looks like he's sound asleep!

We're a little tired today ...

Cruz was up a lot last night either 1.) because he didn't want to sleep 2.) he was hungry 3.) he didn't have his pacifier in. He didn't really cry but also didn't allow me to try to work on swaddling. He ripped right out of the swaddle once I laid him down. Right now he's in his pack n play. He was passed out feeding for 20 mins but right as I got up be woke up. His legs are moving around like crazy in there but he's not crying which is a good sign. Errand boy

Cruz went with me to get my windshield replace (there was a big crack in it). He was good. I sang and danced for him in the Ergo Baby carrier. 

Right now I'm watching him in his gym. He loves it. Very content!  Our bedroom is overrun with Cruz's stuff!!!

Conversations with Cruz

I have been having my own little conversations with Cruz over the last couple of days. We finally got it on video :) I'm pretty exhausted today. We woke up around 4:30 for a feeding. Next thing I knew it was 5:30 with Cruzer sound asleep in my stomach. I know I wasn't completely asleep with him there but I'm sure I was in a zone. I love out moments together at night. During the day he can be fidgety while feeding which makes nursing challenging. This afternoon we took a nap together. He woke me up by his sweet sounds (not crying). Right now it's 5:30 and I'm nursing him. He might be down for the night. He's pretty worn out (let's face it - I am too!)

2 am!!!  Cruzer slept for 6 hours before any sign of whimpering. I fed him for a little over 4 minutes and he was out like a light.
