Growth spurt? 5th leap

Cruz has been a little more hard to handle lately. It's been hard to get him to sleep and to stay asleep. He has been waking up about 4 to 5 times/ night. I've been jumping from bed to bed in order to get some rest. I'm frantically ready heathy sleep habits, happy child.  I need to establish better sleep for Cruz. He's almost 6 months and is still a bad sleeper!!!  He's been taking baths every night with me or Brian. He loves it. Today we went to the pool with daddy, kayden and Tayton. That was fun!  Cruz loves when his brother and sister visit. He has soooo much fun with them!  

Crib life

It's Tuesday at 11:30. Cruz and I went on a walk from 9 to 10. We do this most days. Then I carry him upstairs and nurse him to sleep. Some days he's already asleep by the time I'm laying him down. About 3 weeks ago we transitioned Cruz from the swing to the crib. It didn't go well at all. My friend loaned us a bassinet to put inside the crib. Now I feel like its time to get him used to the crib without anything. Disastrous!!  He sleeps about 20 mins in there then wakes up. Hopefully I will report good things soon.  What led me to post today was that Cruz rolled to his side to sleep. So cute!  He's never done that before although I'm sure he's wanted to. 

It's 3:30 now and I'm working on this nap. Hopefully it will be better than this morning's nap. 

Cruz and I are both under the weather.

Middle of the night cuddles

Although I complain about my lack of sleep I do love cuddling with Cruzer during the night (disclaimer: as long as he goes back to sleep). The doctor wants me to work on his naps. The 4 to 5 nap is the worst. He rarely takes it which means he's a wreck by the time he's really going to sleep at 7. 

5th leap - relationships

We just entered Cruz's fifth leap according to wonder weeks. So far his sleeping hasn't been affected although he is sleeping a little more during the day which I am grateful for. He continues to sit very well. In fact that's how he prefers to play. I think it's easier for him to go from one toy to another. I have backed off on food for right now. He hasn't been interested in it. I am going to start preparing some foods to freeze for him. I will slowly start to give him foods when he's 6 months old. Some fun facts of Cruz as of lately: sitting for one full week, loves sucking on his toes, and lately I've been joining Cruz for an afternoon nap. We like to go on morning walks and of course the little gym and baby story time are on the agenda for the week. We have a couple of girlfriends. We haven't met anyone yet with a boy!  

The fifth leap begins to establish relationships so Cruz will start to understand distances between us. I hope this doesn't affect me making coffee while he's playing in the other room!
