Walking!!!

Still crawling a lot but walking a lot more. Took about 10 steps to me and then collapsed in my arms!

Walking on a dream ....

Lots of walking happening. A couple of steps but way more if assisted.

Grama is in town so Brian and I got to see a movie together and go Christmad shopping.

Merry 1st Christmas Cruz

Unfortunately you have a runny nose but that didn't stop you. We went to Hectors for dinner and just got home. Its way past your bedtime. I'm rocking you. You have your head on my chest. I love these moments. You were and are the best present!  Mommy and Daddy love you!

First steps

Not walking yet but did take a step on Sunday 12/9 and today 12/11. Also sleeping waaaaay better. 9 months seems to even out all the babby drama at least for a bit right :). I love you Cruzer!

Growing up!

New foods: cheese and peaches
Sleeping: better. Cruz no longer likes to lay like a baby while nursing. Instead he climbs all over me. He ends up getting comfortable on his tummy. He's been sleeping longer since I've been "trying" to have him self sooth. He only needed me once last night.
Naps: still between 1.5 and close to 2 hours. It seems to take that long for him to take a nap though!  I usually have to leave him in his crib to calm down, fuss, and play to ultimately tire out for sleep.
New skills: standing freely and gliding around furniture. He is also dancing when he is excited and heard music.

We just got back from dfw for thanksgiving. Cruz stayed with Grama over night for the first time. He had a blast. They both did great :)

Stomach virus for mommy

I just got over the hump of a 4 day stomach virus. On sat night I went to the ER because I was in so much pain. I had a CT scan done and found out I have a horseshoe shaped kidney which means both kidneys are fused together as one. My intestines were swollen trying to pass air and it was aggravating my kidney. Anyway I'm getting better. No fever. Ate real food for the first time today. I am getting my strength back. It was a tough few days. Here's some pics over the last fee days.

The last two weeks

Have been a blur and busy. Cruz has decided to cut his two front teeth. He had also stopped wearing the Magic Sleep Suit and he is practicing standing which makes night time dramatic. Sleep has been lost. Sleep training stopped. Now Cruz is sleeping with me in the middle of the night and waking up every 2 hours. That's better than 2 nights ago when he woke up from 3:30 am to 8 am!!    In any event last night wasn't bad. He's rolling over a lot when sleeping. He slept on his back, side, and belly throughout the night. He seemed pretty comfortable and content.

First fever :(

It's 6:22 am. We've been up since 5:45. Cruz and I have been cosleeping again. He's not sleeping well in the crib because all he wants to do is practice standing. After roughly his 5th wake up in a two hour period I brought him to bed with me. He has been sleeping better next to be. When he woke up he felt like a heating pad. I took his temp while watching nursery rhymes. 101.4!  I gave him Motrin, changed his diaper and pj's. Now we are cuddling. I think he's almost asleep. I am quite positive this fever is caused by teething!!

3rd or 4th sleepless night but who's counting

Cruz is practicing standing on his own and cutting his front teeth so when he does wake up he stands and cries in the crib until I get him. He slept with me most of the night. I was pretty uncomfortable because he was up against me most of the time. When he woke up at 7:15 I brought him to Tayton and Brian. I got an extra hour of sleep. I know Cruz is excited to stand but man I am tired. It doesn't help that he rather forcefully had to transition out of his sleep suit since he's trying to do all these tricks at night. Getting Cruz to sleep and to stay asleep over the last several days has been challenging!  Naps went from 3 hrs/ day to 1 hour! Serenity now!  Let this phase be over soon.
