I love you more than you will ever know

Dear Cruz,

It's 4:30 am and you just finished eating. I cuddled with you for a bit and then put you back down to sleep. I'm watching you in the monitor right now. You wiggle around until you find your spot. It didn't take you very long to settle down. Your sleep schedule has been a little off because of our trip last weekend. You are getting back to normal (sort of). Over the last couple of days you have been playing with your mouth and the sounds you can do. I have been copying you by doing it back at you. You absolutely love it. We have been having so much fun together. You have make me laugh out loud several times. I can watch you all the time. You make me so proud. Today we did something for your Daddy for Fathers Day. It's a surprise so we can't say anything since your Dad reads this blog. You are the light of my life little guy!  I love u!

More sleepless nights for Mommy

Looks like Cruz is regressing right now. He hasn't slept more than 3 hours in a row since we have been back from Dfw. 

Yesterday he cracked me up. He's been making these bubble sounds with his mouth. I copied him and did it back to him. He love it. He was smiling at me and getting so excited. It was so funny. 

Our schedule is completely off

Poor Cruz. We have been up every one to two hours since he went to bed. Now he is in my bed for some closeness. He had been pretty fussy since we have been home from DFW. Everything I am reading says that his schedule is off. Poor little guy. 

Update: 7:20

We have been up since 6:45. Cruz slept in bed with method morning. I'm quickly feeding him so I can take my screaming cat Mikey to the vet. He's been whining like this since around 4 am. At this point I'm more annoyed than anything else which makes me ashamed to admit. I know the amount of insulin he's on is not working which is why I am dropping him off to be monitored. Wish us luck.

Happy 3 months bday!!!

We are back in Houston and a little worn out. Cruz took several naps throughout the day. He has spent the better part of the afternoon awake. He had cracked me up. He can't keep his hands out of his mouth. He also was on the boppy getting some tummy time. The next thing I knew he was kicking like crazy trying to crawl which turned into him practically doing a summersault. So funny!  Happy quarter of a year to my little man. I love you!!! 

Happy Memorial Day!

It's Monday afternoon. We are leaving in about an hour to go to DVid and Beverly's house for Sunny's going away party. She is moving to London!  This side of the family hasn't met Cruz yet so I'm expecting that he steals part of the show. 

Yesterday we went to Justin's baseball game (Justin is Cruz's cousin) and then headed to the Webb/ Lehman Blues and BBQ party. We all ate a ton of good food and got to hang out. It's the first time Cruz met Roger, Kimberley, Rachel and David Webb as well as Bryan, Alisha, and Addison Carnes. My mom was Cruz's baby whisperer and a huge help when I wanted to have my hands free. Cruz was the primary reason she was there. She's in love :). He conked out at 7:30ish in my arms while the party was still going on. We left at 8 and I thought he was out like a light although he wasn't. We got back to Grandma Cakes and Cruzer nursed for almost an hour. He was tired but I think also just wanted a little comfort. Yesterday was a big day for him.

After Sunny's party we are heading back to Houston. I have had fun but I think we are all ready to sleep in our own beds and to get back to normalcy for a bit. 

Happy Memorial Day!!!  Tomorrow Cruz is officially 3 months old!

1 hour of exercise without Cruz

I survived. I have visited several ymca's over the last week. I have scoped out their classes. I have chickened out twice and have skipped the Y because I was scared to leave Cruz in daycare. Well I did it today. I made it to the 10:15 spin class. I went to the child care area and checked him in. He got so much attention right when I walked in the door. I let the caregivers hold him and I said goodbye. It felt so weird not having him with me. I made it to class. I watched the clock and my phone for 1 hour. I couldn't wait to get back to him. I wondered if he was ok. Well I made it through the class and my first drop off. I missed him but know we both need a little time away from each other. The staff said he did great. He looked like he loved it. I am proud of both of us today. Baby steps!

He is starting to hold on to both of his hands. So adorable. He also was licking the ball toy like crazy this afternoon. He makes me laugh!

Road trip #2

We left Houston at 6pm on Thursday and headed to Dallas. Cruz slept peacefully most of the way. The beginning of the ride he was awake although he never fussed. He just sucked on his pacifier and when that wasn't available he sucked on his hands. We got to the Belmont Hotel around 10:30. Cruz was sound asleep until 1 am. I nursed him and then he was down again but then up at 4 am then at 5:30. His schedule is a bit off. It's 5:30 right now and he's sound asleep. I hope he doesn't think this is the long sleep for the night because he has Autumn, Stephen, Rex, and Daddy to hang out with for a bit. 

My mom visited us today. Cruzer smiled at Grama a lot today. She grinned and bared the drive to Dallas all in the name of Cruz!  This says a lot!  Cruz you have Grama's heart!  Big time!

I am picking up where I left off yesterday. It's 5/25 (sat morning) at 9:05. Cruz and I visited with everyone last night until 8 pm. He was very good although exhausted. Not much of a fight was put up last night when he went to sleep. He slept for 6 hours in a row!  He was up at 5:56 ready to start his day. I however was not although I got up. We went on a walk to grab some coffee then headed home. We were out and about for about an hour. We got home to our hotel and took a nap. Not a long one be wise be was up 45 min later. Fortunately he was content playing in his bouncer. He let daddy sleep (Brian went out with the gang to see Josh perform the night before) and mommy take a shower. 

Later: My friend Amy from my old apartments met us for brunch. Cruz was good there too. He was a little fussy but quickly took a power nap and was happy when he woke up. Once we were done with brunch I headed back to the hotel to check out and pack up the car. We drive to Burleson. I dropped off Brian. Then we drive to Ft Worth to visit uncle Matt and his dogs. They did really well which I think is a load off my brother. I am now back at Kaye's house and am in bed. Cruz took. Np on the way over here. I tried to wake him up around 6 to hang out. He was not having it. He's been sleeping pretty much since we got here which means tonight might be hard on me. Pray he sleeps well to help mama get some rest.

Sweet dreams little prince

Cruz decided to wake up a lot after 3 am so by 6 am I decided to bring him to bed with me. I loved it!  He fell asleep soundly. I would like to start doing this for now on although now (8:30 pm) he's in the swing. I had him in the bed when I was putting him to sleep but because it was so bright in there he wasn't having it. I wish Cruz would go to sleep peacefully but he screams and yells at me. Sometimes a lot and sometimes a little but no doubt he will cry. It's not an "I'm hurt" cry. It's more like "I'm pissed that you're making me go to sleep mom!"  Now I shush him and rub his face with the fuzzy blanket. Sooner rather than later he passes out. He has been "sleeping through the night". His long stretch last night was 6 hours although going to bed at 5pm last night did not put a dent in momma's sleep schedule. It's hard to be mad at the lack of sleep. Cruz is so adorable when he wakes up. He smiles, coos, makes sweet sounds. I just love him and I quickly forgive him for the lack of sleep :). 

11:11 make a wish

I wasn't able to get all my stuff back on my phone. I cried. The apple IT guy knew I was upset. He was actually very compassionate. 

Cruz went to sleep at 5 pm for a nap which turned into another long sleep. He woke up at 10:15 pm. This was when I quickly squirted Zantac in his mouth, changed his diaper, and put on his pj's. I keep everything dimly lit during night time and don't really talk to him. He nursed for 15 minutes. He wasn't really settling down for sleep yet. I held him for a bit. First he layer on my chest. Then on his back on my tummy. Then finally I cuddled with him laying next to me. He fell asleep. My head was against his. He makes sweet sounds when he sleeps.  You could tell we both liked this time together. Tonight I felt a little bit of sadness. I put him to sleep for a nap.  Iwasn't  prepared for it to be his long sleep.  I know it might sound crazy but I wanted him to wake up so we could hang out. I missed him which is why I truly lived our little cuddle session. He's back to sleep peacefully. No crying this time. Moments like these are priceless. I never want to forget my little baby and our times together which is why I am doing this blog. Which is why I got so sad to know that my pictures from April 2 to today are gone forever. Thankfully I have this blog, emails sent and able to track and Instagram. 

We went to the library today for our first baby story time. Cruz was the youngest in the class but really a riot. He cooed a lot. He smiled at the babies and the songs we sang.  He was very attentive even though I knew he was tired. I am just a proud momma. I love this little guy more than I could have imagined. Ugh! Technology

Glad I have this blog because I managed to wipe out all my pictures on my phone my restoring my phone. It restored my phone to info from Dec!!!! I have to figure out how to get everything back. Thank goodness my mom has been saving all of Cruz's videos!!!

Weekend update

Busy weekend with the kids. Cruz and I went to two of Tayton's basketball games although there was flag football and dance jammed in there too. We went to Taytons basketball party after his game on Saturday. When we got home I tried to put him down for a nap. I wasn't able to until 5:30. He used this nap as his long sleep stretch. He woke up at 11 and ever 2.5 hours after that. We did sleep in until 7:30 which is good! Today was good too. We went to Taytons basketball game then to lunch but then we headed home while the rest of the crew went to Taytons flag football game. I have managed to be kicked in the rear by Cruz tonight. I though I had him to sleep by 6:30 but he was up and very upset 30 min later. I just got him down. It's 8 pm. I don't know what is gong on. Night time has become very hard again. It's never really easy for me but the last several days have been awful. I feel so bad for Cruz. I don't know what it is. I think it might be his acid reflux although when I changed his diaper I took off his 3 month old pj's and put some 3 to 6 month ones. He seemed to be a little better for a bit so I am assuming that 3 month clothes are going out the window soon. He's been upset during many of our dressing sessions so I think it's because they are too tight. I'm going to call it a day in an hour. I was planning on getting some of my studying done but now I'm whipped out and need a drink ;). Wish I had some Rombauer Chardonnay chilled!!!

P.s. my little baby is 11 weeks old today and 16 pounds!!!

Sleeping and nursing

It's 10:55 pm and I just attempted my first asleep and nursing feeding. I hope this will sustain Cruz a little longer. Normally he would be up between 12 and 1 am. I will report back.

It's 1:45 am and Cruz just woke up. I wish it were a longer stretch but I can assure you if I didn't wake him up he would have been up at midnight.

Long nap time today

Cruz was very easy to put down for his nap this morning. He has been napping for 3 hours. I'm going to keep him sleeping for a little longer but no longer than 4 hours.

Today I took several videos of Cruz. This morning he wasn't in the best mood but when he took his afternoon nap he woke up refreshed. Normally he wakes up around 6ish. We stay awake for no more than an hour then he's ready to go back down for an hour. We do this throughout the morning. Up no more than 2 hours then down. His afternoon nap lasted 3 hours. Got to love that. Right now he's playing in the bouncer although it does annoy him too. I have to take the toys off when he fusses. We played in front of the mirror. He talks to himself in front of the mirror. I love it! I'm going to take him for a walk then give him a bath. Some of his rolls are funky smelling. By then it will be time to settle down for dinner and then bed. Adios - got to tend to Cruzer.

Mothers Day Present

Being a mom is the most rewarding and most challenging job I have ever had. I wouldn't trade it in the world. I love this little guy!

I get to go get a massage in a few hours! I can't wait!!! I love you Brian!!!

Kayden's American Girl Bday

We just got back from Kayden's bday party at American girl. It was a lot of fun. We had lunch in the bistro and then the girls got their doll's hair done. I had my own doll too ... Cruzer!

Before we left Cruz spent most of the morning rolling over. He's got it down. Pretty sure he did it about 30 times today!

It's 7:20 and I am nursing him. He fed a little when we were out but it's distracting and uncomfortable so neither of us could relax to get a decent feeding in.
