Cruz is about 20 pounds
Eats a lot of food with his favorite being any purée with bananas
He cut 2 teeth at once last week (bottom)
He still sleeps poorly but cosleeping with mommy has helped provide mommy with some relief
He started crawling at 6 1/2 months
He really enjoys standing just can't get up to a standing position without help
He loves his baby storytime friends - especially Brielle
He went to New Orleans this week. Louisiana was his first out of state trip
His dirty diapers have changed
He's in 9 to 12 month clothes!
He lives Peekaboo the most but Baby First TV is his favorite
He's become a little clingy but I don't mind. I love his hugs

I love being your Mommy!

Today Cruz decided to crawl a lot more and discover things we definitely need to child proof like our tv/ tv stand. Apparently that is sooo exciting to him. You can place him far away from that with lots of distractions. He doesn't care. He'll "cruise" on over to the tv!
I also think that he has grown up considerably since he decided to crawl. Now he likes food again. He tried picking up puffs for 30 mins which was mixed with downing juice from the sippy cup and squirting apples/ pears/ barley into his mouth. He ate probably the most I've ever seen him eat of real food. He also too a ride in the walker. He moved backwards a bit but was more annoyed with it than anything else. Now I'm rocking/ nursing him to sleep. He's had a very busy day discovering. Good night my sweet prince. I love u.

The attachment method

I've come to be hard on myself with the length of sleep Cruz gets. Somehow I think I've failed as a new mom the older and older he his and if he's not sleeping for several hours in a row. Until now!  I've read a ton of sleep books. In fact it's been my preoccupation since his birth. I knew that I was doing a lot of the attachment parenting methods I just didn't know it by heart what any of it was. I knew this:
Breast feeding
Cosleeping
Baby wearing
Very little crying
Demand feeding

According to this site and method in doing everything right!  Cruz will sleep through the night when he's ready. He will want to do all this when he's ready. Americans want their babies to be more independent than they are. Attachment parenting allows them to be nurtured and loved instead of laying in a cold dark room crying. Although I'm living in a fog most days I know that this is only temporary and it will benefit Cruz in the long run. I'm not judging other parents' styles; I just know that this is the style that works best for my baby and I.

Mommies love their babies

I remember at my baby shower Brian's Aunt Karen said I'm going to love this baby like I've never loved before. This is so true. I am exhausted. Some days I am frustrated while others I feel that I was born to be a mommy. Other days I wonder if I'm doing okay. Then I hear Cruz laugh at my faces I make at him or watch him get excited when we do something together. I watch him effortlessly reach one milestone after another. He's so eager about life. This is one of the many traits I am very proud of. I am proud of him being such a happy baby. The only time he cries is if he's too tired or awake and wants our attention. The love I have for him is enormous. I am proud to be his mommy!!
